Ceropegia flowers are the Old World pipevines. They have the Meerschaum pipe shape. They trap insects for a day or two for pollination purposes.
German botanists from 1870 to 1960 studied these intricate flowers trying to understand how they worked. Their papers explaining and detailing their work were in German and inaccessible to any botanists unable to read German.
This book contains English translations of nine papers that follow their attempts to explain these flowers. There are numerous illustrations.
